Farah was born to a multi talented family which consists of father Kamran who was a successful stunt film maker, mother was of Zoroastrian origin is the sister screen writer Honey Irani and former child actor Daisy Irani. Farah has Sajid Khan as her brother and both siblings shuttled a lot at the time of their parent’s divorce. Farhan Akhtar and Zoya Akhtar are Farah’s cousins.
Farah was studying in St. Xaviers College Mumbai where a Micheal Jackson show was being aired and there she got so moved with dancing that she started learning by her own and made a dancing group later on. She got her first break as choreographer in Jo Jeeta Wo Hi Sikandar when Saroj Khan walked out of the film. She met her best friend Shahrukh Khan in B-town on the sets of Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa and from then on the duo has been jointly giving the hits.
Farah got married with her husband Shirish Kunder on 9th December 2004 and is recently blessed with triplets born in 2008. They have named them Czar (boy), Divya and Anya (daughters). Farah and Shirish have worked together in Main Hu Na where Shirish was the editor of the film. Other films include Jaan-E-Man, Om Shanti Om and Tees Maar Khan where both husband and wife have put their efforts to make their film a hit.
Farah has recently added a new feather to her cap which is acting. She is co-starring with Boman Irani in Shirin Farahad Ki To Nikal Padi which is directed by Sanjay Bhansali’s sister Bela Bhansali.
