Sidharth Malhotra was born and brought in Delhi to Rimma and Sunil Malhotra. His father was a captain in Merchant Navy. He basically belongs to Punjab and spent his childhood majorly in two cities Mumbai and Delhi. He attended Birla Vidya Niketan, Delhi before moving to Mumbai, where he studied at St. Xaviers School. He dropped out of college to pursue a career in modelling.
He started of his career as a ramp model during his college days and worked for brands like NIIT, Color Plus & Pantaloons. He has also walked the ramp for designers like Manish Malhotra and Rohit Bal and have modeled even in Paris and Dubai. He was seen on the covers of magazines like RedBook, Gladrags and Men’s Health.
He made his debut in Bollywood with Karan Johar's Student of the Year along with Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt in 2012. The film also won him Best Male Debut award by Stardust Awards. His forthcoming venture includes, Hasee Toh Phasee with Parineeti Chopra and Mohit Suri’s The Villain.
