Navjot Singh Sidhu born in Patiala, Punjab is a former Indian cricketer and is the Television commentator. He has also been a member of the parliament and is currently a contestant in the reality show Bigg Boss 6.
Sidhu is a vegetarian. He was elected as a member of the Lok Sabha Amritsar in 2004 with a Bhartiya Janta Party ticket, but later resigned following his conviction. His conviction was stayed and he successfully contested the elections and defeated his rival Surinder Singhla, the State Finance Minister by 77,626 votes.
Navjot Singh Sidhu had a volatile career as a cricketer from 1983 to 1999. He announced his retirement from cricket in December 1999. He played over 50 Test matches and over 100 ODIs scoring over 7,000 international runs. He has 27 centuries to his credit in an 18-year career. Sidhu restarted his career as a commentator for Nimbus sport when India toured Sri Lanka in 2001. He however later became a commentator with ESPN Star Sports. As a commentator, Sidhu was noted for his one-liners, which came to be known as Sidhuisms and regularly appeared as a cricket analyst on various Indian news channels. Sidhu is currently a contestant in the reality show Bigg Boss 6 as well.
