Ranked as world’s top player from July 2011 to July 2012 Novak Djokovic is a brilliant tennis player. He has won five Grand Slam singles. Apart from this he is the first youngest player to have reached the semifinals of all four Grand Slam events and the fifth player who reached the finals of all four Grand Slam singles consecutively.
Defined as one of the greatest tennis players of all time, Novak started playing tennis at the age of four. He was trained by Yugoslav tennis legend Jelena Gencic since the age of 6. And at age of 14, he began to participate in international events winning European championships in singles, doubles and team competition.
Belonging to Serbian Orthodox Christian community, Djokovic is a keen fan of Serbian football club Red Star Belgrade and Italian Series A side A.C. Milan. One of the best tennis players, he is the only player to beat Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal in a Grand Slam tournament on 4 different occasions in consecutive matches.
