Indian film director and cinematographer Rohit Shetty was born to late Bollywood actor and fight master M. B. Shetty. He spent a lot of time in Mangalore, Karnataka before moving to Mumbai. As his father was an active person in film industry, Rohit also learned basic lessons from his father.
Shetty started his career at the age of 15 as an assistant director with Kuku Kohli on the film Phool Aur Kaante starring Ajay Devgn. He debuted into direction with film, Zameen with Devgn in 2003, which was commercially not a hit. Later in 2006, Rohit headed with Golmaal and proved his mettle in Bollywood.
His acclaimed directorial films are like- Golmaal, Golmaal Returns, Golmaal 3, All The Best, Sunday, Bol Bachchan and Singham. He is presently working on Chennai Express, which is expected to come in 2013. He has also seen on television screen as a judge of Comedy Circus (Sony TV). Rohit is married to Maya Shetty.
