Sanjay Leela Bhansali commenced his career as an assistant to Vidhu Vinod Chopra during the making of Parinda and assisted him in 1942: A Love Story before making his directorial debut with Khamoshi: The Musical which set him as an independent director despite poor collection on box office.
His second film Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam starring Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn and Aishwarya Rai gave Bhansali’s career new heights of success making him an overnight celebrity director. Since then he has earned several awards for his mind-blowing directorial performances.
