Bollywood actress Rani Mukerji comes across as a very candid person who is quite honest and open about her views on films, her connect with meaningful cinema and being extremely happy to get the role of police officer in Pradeep Sarkar’s upcoming film Mardaani.
Rani, who loves to study deep about the character, went ahead to meet police officer just to understand their work criteria. She met the joint police commissioner of Mumbai Himanshu Roy to understand the nitty-gritty of a police officer's job profile.
After the meeting Roy said, “Rani is playing the role of a crime branch officer in her upcoming film. She wants to understand how a crime branch officers functions, ways in which officers probe various cases, an officer's body language and lifestyle.”
Rani also tried to dig into the dangers being faced by an officer during an operation. “She sought to understand the work schedules of an officer and dangers being faced during a police operation, etc. She was very keen to know various aspects of an officer's life,” Roy explained.
Mardaani is Yash Raj Films’ production that leads by Pradeep Sarkar, who had earlier directed Laga Chunari Mein Daag and Lafangey Parindey for YRF.
Rani's last outing with the banner was Aiyyaa, which failed to create magic at the box office.
