Ranbir Kapoor is the son of Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor. He is the great grandson of Prithviraj Kapoor and the grandson of actor and filmmaker Raj Kapoor. He is the brother of Riddhima Kapoor and his uncles are Randhir Kapoor and Rajiv Kapoor.
Karishma Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor and Nikhil Nanda are his cousins. He completed his school education from Bombay Scottish School in Mahim, Mumbai, and went on to pursue method acting at The Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York.
Before Saawariya, he was involved in the making of ‘Black’. His biggest hit was ‘Ajab Prem Ki Kahani’. His forthcoming projects include Siddharth Anand's Anjaana Anjaani with Priyanka Chopra, and Imtiaz Ali's Rockstar. Other movies he did are: Wake up Sid, Bachna Ae Haseeno, Rocket Singh, Rajneeti, Anjaana-Anjaani and others.
