Huma began her acting career with a break in Theatre groups in Delhi and then gradually moved to advertisements. Later she grabbed her acting debut in Bollywood as Anurag Kashyap’s Ganga Of Wasseypur. She has worked with one of the finest theatre directors like Aamir Raza Husain, Sohaila Kapur, Rahul Pulkeshi and NK Sharma of Act One Group. She has shot for almost 15 brands like ITA Marie, Saffola Oil, Mederma Cream, Samsung Guru, Pears Soap and Nerolac.
She came into limelight while working in ads with Shahrukh Khan and Aamir Khan. She was spotted by Anurag Kashyap while she was shooting with Aamir Khan and was promised by the director that he would be launching her in his next directional venture and Anurag walked his talk as she was seen portraying the role of Moshina a small town Muslim girl of 90’s.
After being auditioned among 700 girls, Huma was shortlisted for Tamil movie Billa 2 but somehow the movie got delayed in shoot. She was honored by Grand jury at 2012 Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles for her performance as the titular character in a short film Sujata.
Even before Gangs of Wasseypur could release, Huma got another three flicks in her kitty which are Love, Shuv Tey Chicken Khuarana, Ek Thi Dayaan and Trisha, In Love, Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana she will essaying the role of a Punjabi foodie girl and this film is going to be India’s first romantic comedy which is based on food. In Ek Thi Dayaan she will be co-starring with Emraan Hashmi. And in Trisha she would be seen sharing screen space with Frieda Pinto.
