2008’s hit film Rock ON is still remembered of its thought-provoking theme and brilliant star-cast that features multi-talented Farhan Akhtar, along with Arjun Rampal, Luke Kenny, and Purab Kohli. It also marked actress Prachi Desai’s debut in filmdom.

And now, report has that Farhan Akhtar and Arjun Rampal have been finalised for the sequel of the film. Earlier it was said that the original director of Rock ON Abhishek Kapoor will direct the film but here’s the latest update on who will direct the film. If going by the buzz, filmmaker Shujaat Saudagar of Boot Polissh Films, will direct the sequel of this popular youth film that will go on the floor in January 2015.

Abhishek and Farhan Akhtar is said to have a showdown. The friendship between the two had turned sour with Farhan dragging his feet over Abhishek's ambitious project, Kai Po Che. According to sources, Abhishek had initially envisioned his friend in the role of Ishaan (later played by Sushant Singh Rajput). Farhan had even skipped the star-studded premiere of the film. However, in an attempt to bury the hatchet, he had later congratulated the Kai Po Che team on twitter and made a special appearance at the film's success party.
