One film old, Taaha Shah made his foray into town with youth oriented film Luv Ka The End, where he was seen playing an arrogant- spoiled-son. His performance was appreciated by all and that led him to bag his second film Gippi, a Karan Johar’s production.
He is happy with the given space in Bollywood. “I don't know how the film industry really functions, so I don't want to worry about these things. I concentrate on myself. I feel every actor has a special niche in this industry and Bollywood has enough work for newcomers,” said Dubai-born Taaha.
His first film was completely a women-oriented film and incidentally the upcoming Gippi, a teenie-bopper flick has again a female protagonist in the centre of attraction. When source asked if this annoys him, he admitted, “Yes, even Gippi is a film which centers on a girl. I agree that typecasting exists, but I'm not afraid. If I have talent, it will show on screen.”
Talking about the upcoming ventures, Taaha has a few other movies lined up. And he is not at all thinking about dabbling in other mediums of entertainment. He says, “Why should I look at another medium? Look at the diverse kind of films being made now. You have crossover films, commercial flicks and even the southern film industry is very, very big. My dad is from Tamil Nadu so I can see myself doing a south film at some point.”
Directed by Sonam Nair and produced by Karan Johar, the film has Riya Vij as Gurpret Kaur in the lead role. It is scheduled to release on May 10, 2013.
