Success always needs backing and there happens to be someone helping us to climb the success ladder. And Bollywood actress Huma Qureshi, who debuted in town with Gangs of Wasseypur, owes her success to filmmaker Anurag Kashyap.

Anurag first launched Huma in the highly acclaimed Gangs of Wasseypur and then cast her in his home production Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurrana, where she shared the screen space with Kunal Kapoor. Speaking of the same, Huma said, "There are two people in my life to whom I can attribute my success one is Anurag Kashyap and second one is NK Sharma, Delhi-based theatre director. I thank them deeply; they have been mentors, friends, who have nurtured me in their own way”. She added, "One nurtured me when I was doing theatre and other helped me a lot with my first film. I feel glad... Had 'Gangs of Wasseypur' not happened, I wouldn't be doing other movies".

It was reported that it was due to Kashyap's suggestion that the makers signed Huma for Nikhil Advani's upcoming film D Day. Of late, there were even reports in the media linking Huma's name with Anurag. Huma says she is tired of reports linking her up with the director. "I do not care about all these things. I laugh at these reports," she said.

Huma was recently seen in spooky drama Ek Thi Daayan, where she shared the screen space with Emraan Hashmi, Kalki Koechlin and Konkana Sen Sharma. She will next be seen in Vishal Bharadwaj's home production Dedh Ishqiya. "It is a beautiful script. It is a lovely film. I was a fan of 'Ishqiya'. I never thought or dreamt that I will do the second part of the film. We are in the middle of the shoot, it is going pretty well," Huma said.
